Frequently Asked Questions
General
Absolutely! Whether our design team is doing the artwork for you or if it is supplied by the customer, we always lay out a detailed proof with sizes, materials & colour values to ensure everything is accurate prior to proceeding. Partial Wrap
Yes, absolutely! According to a survey done in 2016 by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, Americans drove an average of about 10,900 miles and spent 290 hours on the road. That provides a lot of opportunity for free advertising if you have vehicle wraps. Vehicles covered in bright, glossy advertisements have probably caught your eye on more than one occasion. More and more businesses are using vehicle wraps to successfully advertise their business. Just how effective is vehicle wrap advertising? Check out the stats below:
Vehicle Wraps reach the masses.
Ninety-five percent of Americans are reached by media-targeted vehicle drivers and passengers, per the Outdoor Advertising Association of America.
Vehicle Wraps are memorable.
In a survey of millennials (18 to 34-year-olds) administered by Cox Communications, 47 percent said car wraps are easily remembered.
Vehicle Wraps attain high impressions with minimal investment.
If a business wrapped just one vehicle, it would have the capability to net 30,000-80,000 mobile impressions each day. This largely depends on the distance driven and the community’s landscape. Large cities will reach higher impressions than rural towns thanks to exposure to a larger population.
While either will serve you well, think about the following questions when choosing between a full vehicle wrap or a partial vehicle wrap:
Is your car the same color as your business logo?
If so, your vehicle color should be visible to help support your brand. If it clashes, consider a full vehicle wrap.
Is your car the same color as one of your products?
If so, your vehicle color can be used to enhance your message and help support your brand. If it clashes, consider a full vehicle wrap.
Does your vehicle have some flat surfaces?
If so, a partial wrap might make a great moving billboard. Think of box trucks, semis, and vans. All that area on the back is great for words and images. If not, consider a full wrap to get the most impact.
Is your vehicle small?
If yes, wrap the whole thing. Think Smart Car, Prius, Mini Cooper, etc. You’ll make a big impact in a small amount of space, and that’s a good thing!
Do you hate the color of your car?
If yes, get a full vehicle wrap. You can change the color of your entire vehicle with a full vehicle wrap.
Do you want to use unique materials (glow in the dark vinyl, metallic vinyl, etc.)?
If so and budget is a concern, a well-designed partial vehicle wrap may serve you just as well as a full wrap.
Partial wraps fall under the vehicle wrap category and these will easily last over 5 years. This of course depends on many factors such as the materials being used and if the wrap was installed correctly. There are also many things you can do to extend the lifespan of your vehicle wrap such as properly washing and maintaining your vehicle wrap. You can do this by avoiding automatic car washes as the high water pressure commonly used by the machines there will potentially lift your graphics and cause premature failing. Another you can do to extend the lifespan of your graphics is to store your vehicle out of harsh weather conditions. This can make a huge difference when it comes to extending the lifespan of your vehicle wrap.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Partial vehicle wraps can take 1 to 2 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.

Pylon Sign
Yes! A study done by the California Sign Association (CSA) looked at 162 fast food restaurants in Southern California to measure the benefits of using pylon signs. The restaurants that had pole signs saw more business than those that used other kinds of signage. The same study also looked at various Pier 1 Imports stores in the same region and found that additional pylon signage increased store revenue. In fact, the case studies saw a 15 percent growth in sales and other transactions when the business used a pylon sign.
Are monument signs the same as pylon signs? The simple answer is no. Pylon signs and monument signs can be made into a hybrid, but they are not the same. Monument signs are generally no taller than a grown adult, topping at around five feet tall. Meanwhile, pylon signs tower above everything else.
Most signs do require a permit but please verify with your particular municipality by-laws. The customer is usually responsible for applying and obtaining any sign permits that are required. However, it is common for our customers to ask to provide this as a service. Please note that this comes at an extra cost.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Pylon signs can take 6 to 8 weeks from time of approved artwork and permit approval. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Monument Sign
Oftentimes a monument sign can be repaired; however, it completely depends on the type of sign, how it was installed, and the amount of damage. Elite Mediaworks will be happy to do an inspection and provide an estimate for repairing your monument sign or investment needed to replace it.

LED Display
There are important variables to consider when determining what resolution is best for you and your company. An LED display sign’s resolution is also referred to as it’s Pixel Pitch, what that means is best quality for outdoor LED Diplay Sign lighting.
Ideal for Outdoor Digital Signs that need to be visible from 10ft or less to pedestrian or driving traffic.

Tri-Colour LED Signs provide a basic service to communicate a quick community message for organizations such as schools and churches. The eye-catching colour of an updated Full Colour LED sign is the perfect solution for retailers, malls, convention centers, attractions, restaurants and businesses that want to stand out. If your goal is to attract new customers or remind customers they haven’t used your services in a while, the movement and brightness of Full Colour is your best bet.
Any organization can benefit from a full-colour display, but it is best to consider your budget first. After all, an Outdoor Monochrome/Tri-Colour LED Sign can get your message across more affordably. This means you might see a better ROI if you choose a monochrome LED sign if full colour is not a must.
Most signs do require a permit but please verify with your particular municipality by-laws. The customer is usually responsible for applying and obtaining any sign permits that are required. The initial investment for an LED display sign may come as a shock to you but it should be considered as a business investment. Repeated research has shown that installing an LED display sign results in business increment in percentages ranging from 15-150%. Let us take a smallbusiness in Canada that generates revenue of about $1,000 per day. If we consider a minimum business increment of 15% as a result of the LED display sign, this business can expect added revenue of at least $150 per day. Also imagine this business is functioning for 6 days a week, which adds up to $900 a week in extra revenue, and $46,800 for a year! Although the upfront investment of an electronic message center may be a bit of a burden on a business compared to other advertising methods, the returns on this investment will be seen much faster than other methods and will be consistent throughout the life of the LED display signage.

Channel Letters
You can definitely do a combination blends of both face-lit and halo-lit elements to create a truly unique feel. There is also an aluminum spacer separating the front and back of the letters,so the light doesn’t get overpowering. Furthermore, you can have the face and halo lights in different colors. Because of this unique construction, combination channel letters are the most expensive out of the three types.
There are two methods that channel letters can be mounted:
The Raceway Method
The easiest method for mounting channel letter signs is called the “raceway” method. The letters of the sign are applied to a narrow box—the raceway—that also holds the wiring for the letters. This means that you require less drilling and will leave fewer holes in the wall or facade should the sign be removed. Raceways are often painted the same color as the building where the signage is mounted.Painting them the same color allows for the letters to stand out against the original color of the building, making them more legible.
The Individual Letter Method
You might also see this mounting method called “direct mount” or “flush mount.” Each letter of the sign is mounted individually to the face or wall of the building. Since more work is required, you can anticipate that the cost of installation will be higher than with raceway and backer mounts.
Channel letters can take 3 to 4 weeks from time of approved artwork and permit approval. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Window Graphics
If applied and removed correctly, the decal will leave the glass surface as good as new.
Most window graphics contain an adhesive, which after the initial application will be significantly compromised after removal. There are certain types of window graphicsthat are designed to be removed and reapplied; however, more often than not, once an adhesive-based window vinyl is applied to a window or glass surface, it cannot be effectively removed and reused.
Professional installers should apply your window graphic, and we do not recommendapplying it yourself. Our installers are trained and have years of experience. Window graphics can be tricky to install because the average minimum temperature for applying vinyl to a substrate is 50°F. Adhesives don't like cold temperatures and applying vinyl tocold surfaces can cause the adhesive to be less tacky, which can prevent the vinyl from adhering.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Window graphics can take 2 to 3 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Yard Signs
If your location is prone to strong wind, we recommend installing the yard signs at a slight angle so that the sign itself doesn’t absorb the full impact of the wind. You should also try to drive the wire stake as deep as you can, within reason, to strengthen the base support.
Under normal conditions, a yard sign's expected lifespan is up to two [2] years.
Most yard signs are 18-inch by 24-inch. This is considered the standard size of yard sign advertising. However, we can make them in a variety of sizes and shapes to match your needs.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Yard signs can take 1 to 2 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Banners
Grommets or other finishing options such as hemmed edges, pole pockets, banner-ups, or d-rings with nylon webbing can be added to banners. Although grommets are the most commonly used finishing option, depending on the use of your banner, another option may better serve your needs. Consult with your Elite Mediaworks representative to determine the best finishing option for the purpose and location you have in mind.
The difference between regular banner and perforated banner is that perforated banner can handle higher winds due to the small that allow air to pass through it making this banner option a good choice if you need it to potentially withstand high winds.
Most banners do not require a permit due to it's portability but please verify with your particular municipality by-laws. The customer is usually responsible for applying and obtaining any sign permits that are required. However, it is common for our customers to ask to provide this as a service. Please note that this comes at an extra cost.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Basic banners can take 1 to 2 weeks and retractable banners can take 2 to 3 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Single Post
To install a single post sign, you will need to hammer the post at least 12-inches into the ground.
Under normal conditions, a single post sign's expected lifespan is up to five [5] years.
Most single post signs are around 5 to 6 feet tall with the actual sign commonly sized at 18-inch by 24-inch. However, we can make them in a variety of sizes and shapes to match your needs.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Single post signs can take 1 to 2 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Dimensional Signs
We offer a variety of materials for your custom signage. We typically use various types and thicknesses of PVC, aluminum, and channel letters. The materials for your custom signs will depend on the desired look, where it is being hung, and whether it will be a permanent or temporary sign, among other factors. Our Sales Manager will be able to discuss this with you further to determine all the details to create your custom dimensional signage.
Dimensional letters are a higher end product, and thus can be more difficult to install than a typical vinyl sign. They can be mounted on smooth surfaces with double-sided tape, or studs for more textured surfaces. Options can vary depending on the size and material of the custom signage.
We recommend letter thickness to be no less than 1” otherwise, the stability and durability cannot be guaranteed.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Yard signs can take 2 to 3 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Wall Graphics
Wall graphics can be used in so many ways! They can help divide spaces, create a specific atmosphere, motivate and inspire, or share more about your products and services. They are less permanent than paint, are easy to maintain, and can be easily customized.
Wall decals can be gently removed and shouldn't damage any wall paint underneath. If you are concerned, ask for more specifics about the decals you’re considering. Some options are known to be easier to reposition and use a lower-grade adhesive. They’ll still be very effective but may be a better option depending on your needs.
For all that they can deliver, wall graphics are a very cost-effective signage option. However, depending on how many or how big of a wall graphic you want, the cost will increase. High-quality wall graphics are worth the investment, though, as they install well, leaving less chance for cracking or bubbling.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Wall graphics can take 1 to 2 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.
Wayfinding Signs
Wayfinding signage is most helpful for people visiting cities, hospitals, buildings, campuses and other public spaces that they are unfamiliar with or have limited occasions to visit such as airports, museums and parks. Directional wayfinding signs can help companies and organizations with naming, numbering and overall organization of a building, campus or facility and is a critical part of a wayfinding plan.
While both materials can be used outdoors, they are vastly different in appearance and effect. Dibond material will last for years and is best suited for shop signs and mounted company logos, though it is often used for high-end real estate signage. Coroplast does best as a short term sign solution, like for construction sites, election signs, or for sale signs. Dibond material can be cut precisely and easily, but coroplast doesn’t retain its structural integrity when cut with intricate detail.
Wayfinding signage can be used indoors and outdoors in, on and around corporate buildings, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, retail locations, campus facilities and construction sites. In any place people gather or visit, wayfinding is helpful for the purposes of informing people, reinforcing architecture and improving traffic flow. Wayfinding signage is not only for newbuildings and locations; it can also be used to improve the functionality of existing buildings.
The timeline for each job is determined on an individual bases. Wayfinding signs can take 1 to 2 weeks from time of approved artwork. Please note that these timelines are only an estimate and there are many factors that can delay or expedite a job.

Business Cards
Your business card’s main job is to make sure people have the information they need to get in touch with you after you have met. If it doesn’t do this, it has failed miserably.
Essential information to include is:
-
Phone number and email address
-
Name, job title and qualifications
-
Company name and logo
Everything else is optional. But plan your text carefully to avoid overloading it with detail – and ensure what is there can be seen clearly.
Of course. However, we recommend ordering more to offset the cost of setting up your design. Buying more business cards can lower the overall price per piece and ensure that you will not run out at an important conference or networking event.
In today's digital world, you might think business cards are irrelevant, but the traditional business card is still very important. Business cards are real, tangible, something you can hold. They’re perfect for your events or chance encounters with potential clients on trains. No matter how cool your digital profile looks, it’s not something you can hand to a client for them to place in their wallet.
We may not be able to print the same card due to copyright issues, but we can use it as inspiration and design a card that includes your favorite elements from that example. One of the benefits of working with our team to create a professional business card design is that you can receive a powerful piece of branding that is uniquely yours.

Postcards
Generally speaking, there are two types of postcard marketing campaigns: one-off and recurring. If you’re just starting out, try doing a one-off campaign to get the hang of it. Eventually, you can do a mix of both one-off and recurring postcard campaigns to hit all of your marketing goals.
Here are some ideas and examples to get you inspired:
- Promote a new package deal to get more business from existing clients
Create a one-off postcard campaign to promote a limited time or special offer. For example, if you run a pressure washing business, you can use your postcard to promote 25% off driveway cleaning when they book gutter cleaning with you. - Re-establish a connection with a “We Miss your Business” Postcard
Take a look at your client list. Chances are, there are some customers you haven’t heard from in a while. You can still win them back. Send a one-off, targeted postcard campaign with a personalized message that you miss them and would love to book work soon. - Introduce a new service add-on
This time, instead of just targeting your existing clients, you can send the postcard campaign to existing clients and new leads by creating lookalike audiences through your postcard mailing service. - Impress prospects with an enticing before and after image
Postcards are a visual marketing medium. Take advantage of that by including a great before and after image of your finest work and a 5-star testimonial on the back. Combine this one-off postcard campaign with a link to a landing page built specifically to attract new customers. This double-whammy strategy will impress recipients, and help them to easily find you and book work online. - Re-engage customers with a seasonal offer campaign
Unlike one-off campaigns, recurring postcard marketing campaigns are set-it-and-forget-it. Postcard marketing services like Mailchimp let you automatically send postcards every one, three, or six months with no extra work. You can take advantage of recurring postcard campaigns to re-engage existing customers and always stay top-of-mind. For example, run a quarterly campaign at the start of every season book work. - Grow your lead list with a referral program
Another one-off or recurring postcard campaign idea is to promote your customer referral program. What’s great about using postcards for this is that the client can literally ‘hand off’ the deal to their friend or neighbour. The postcard acts as a nice, tangible reminder of the deal. - Build an emotional connection with holiday or birthday greetings
Send your customers yearly birthday or holiday postcards to stay top of mind, differentiate yourself from your competition, and add a touch of delight to your clients’ daily mail routine.
Of course. However, we recommend ordering more to offset the cost of setting up your design. Buying more postcards can lower the overall price per piece and ensure that you will not run out at an important conference or networking event.

Stickers
